Joules (J) to Watts (W) calculator and how to calculate
Given Energy in Joules (J), it is possible to convert it into Watts (W) by dividing the Joules by the period t in seconds (s)
P(W) = E(J) / t(s)
Therefore:
watt = joule / second
or
W = J / s
Example
Calculate the power consumption, in watts in an electrical circuit, given that the circuit consumed 50 Joules of energy in duration of 2 seconds.
Solution
P = E/t
P(W) = 50J / 2s = 25W
